Development work on the logo identity for travel magazine 'Oomph'.
Using the typeface Futura I cut and positioned the lettering to explore how the forms can interact and piece together to create something new.

By doing this I was able to get a hands on feel for the type and how it worked. Due to it being very consistent in thickness it was perfect for manipulation and overlapping. The letters are also very rounded making it versatile and full of character.

The word oomph to me suggests heavy connotations and a thick personality, I think Futura upholds this idea very well and creates a striking logotype, my further developed work can be seen in the next post.
